Sites in Mind App

Our free Smartphone app allows you to find out about Nazi history while walking around Munich. It guides you to 120 places in Munich and environs that have a direct connection with the city’s Nazi history.

What our app offers

The starting point for our GPS-based app is the all-pervasive impact that National Socialism had in Munich. Using texts, historical visual and source material, biographies, and audio and video sequences, it provides a variety of background information about the events, functions, and people associated with particular buildings and locations and how these places have changed in the course of history. As you discover these vestiges of history and the information connected with them, we hope it will encourage you to critically examine the history of National Socialism.

The app is available in German and English. It uses on- and off-line maps and an augmented reality feature.
