Whether you’re at the Documentation Center, somewhere out and about in Munich, or at home, our web-based app offers tours of our exhibition Munich and National Socialism and information about 118 places in Munich and the surrounding area as well as all our other offers that you can use at home.

Simply select your location and discover our exhibition on a variety of tours aimed at different target groups or find out about Munich’s Nazi past in the city.

Our tours through the permanent exhibition

Munich and National Socialism

The tour provides an overview of the history of National Socialism in Munich from different perspectives. You will hear the voices of contemporary witnesses and see photos and film footage from the archives. 

Unmasking Nazi Propaganda

13 stations, 65min, German + English

Images were important propaganda instruments for the Nazis. On the tour we uncover the stories behind the images and learn to view photographs critically.

What does this have to do with me?

17 stations, 75min, German + English

In this tour young people over the age of 14 will learn what one should know about National Socialism and think about what history has to do with everyone of us. 

International Sign Language

32 stations, DGS und ISL

This tour will give an overview about the exhibition and the history of National Socialism in International Sign Language.

In the middle of Munich: Sites in Mind

Our app guides you to 118 places in Munich and environs that have a direct connection with the city’s Nazi history. The starting point for our app is the all-pervasive impact that National Socialism had in Munich. Using texts, historical visual and source material, biographies, and audio and video sequences, it provides a variety of background information about the events, functions, and people associated with particular buildings and locations and how these places have changed in the course of history.
