Since becoming director of the Munich Documentation Center in 2018, Mirjam Zadoff has worked to make it an internationally networked center of remembrance culture that is closely in touch with current discourses and methods. Her focus is on an interdisciplinary, multi-perspective, and inclusive culture of remembrance.

Paul-Moritz Rabe is Deputy Director, Head of Research & Publications and Head of the new memorial site currently being created at the former forced labor camp Neuaubing. He develops concepts for exhibitions, events, outreach, and publication projects. His special fields are administrative, financial, and municipal history as well as public history and theory of history.

The art historian Anke Hoffsten is head of exhibitions and of the communications and program team and is also closely involved in the strategic, substantive, and organizational development of the Munich Documentation Center. As a curator she realizes exhibitions and art interventions.

Kirstin Frieden is director of the Communications and Program departments. The museologist Elisabeth Schulte is responsible for the visitors’ service. Her work ranges from advising groups about their visits to designing and evaluating visitor surveys. Together with her colleagues she develops programs for specific target groups with a focus on inclusion and disa-bled access.

Since September 2025 David Hartmann has been working at the Munich Documentation Center as a participant in the national voluntary services program. Denis Heuring has a background in Romance languages and literature. The historian Stefan Grüner is doing a research project on the history of the bank Stadtsparkasse München during the Nazi era. His main research interests are economic and banking history as well as modern France and political liberalism in Europe. He holds a teaching post as an extraordinary professor at the University of Augsburg.

Laura Sophie Stadler is in charge of the project Kunst und die völkische Bewegung (Art and the Ethnic-Popular Movement), a cooperation with the Lenbachhaus. She is engaged in research into the connections between the ethnic-popular movement and artistic personalities in Munich around 1900 and is also curating an interdisciplinary accompanying program that references the socio-political conditions of the present.

Manon Haase is conceiving the exhibition content for the Neuaubing Memorial Site and developing interdisciplinary formats. She has a special interest in performative remembrance practices. She is also in charge of coordinating the various participants in the project, such as architects and designers. 

The East European specialist Kristina Tolok joined the Munich Documentation Center as an intern and became a research assistant there in autumn 2022. She conducts research and contemporary witness projects on the subject of forced labor with special responsibility for the exhibition at the future Neuaubing Memorial Site.

Thomas Hirschlein is working as an exhibition coordinator for the Neuaubing Memorial Site.
