Based on the research project CAPTURES, Rosalie Wanka and Paola Evelina investigate the creative and documentary potential of photography for the ephemeral art form of dance. They place the dancing body in different architectural and urban contexts in order to visualize and engage into a dialogue with the genius loci.
The resulting visual material is brought together in this lecture performance and invites to a reflection on the culture of memory, which they approach through the concepts of body, architecture, memory and utopia. A special focus is placed on architecture from the Nazi era in Germany, Austria and Italy.
An accompanying multimedia installation will be shown, which can be viewed one hour before and after the event.
